During tfoaaikgiving services for the Czar's manifesto, hooligans at Kishineff pillaged and burnt (most of the Jews' quarters. The authorities and troops were inactive. The shopkeepers' resistance led to an orgy of carnage. Telegrams describe the massacre as horrible. All the hospitals, pharmacies, and hotels are full of wounded and mutilated.
The whole town of Nicolaiff is in the hands of patriot bandits, who. are looting the Jewish (houses and beating tlw Jews to death. The authorities are •not interfering.
