•News ibas been received that Coloaiol Semmorn has had an extremely severe fight 'with 400 natives, under the chiof Marengo, near Harljbeestemund. Ultimately the natives withdrew, but were not pursued. It is reported that they losb heavily. Three German officers and thirteen soldiers were killed and throe offioea-B and eighteen men severely wounded and thirteen slightly wounded, ■while five are missing.
The report shows that Hendrik Wimboi was expelled from the water holes at Aminius, the Kirus abandoning 350 women and ohlidren, who nearly died of thirst. * .
