SYDNEY, November 2

A sensational development has occurred with regard to the Sandford-Merthyr fare. A labourer named Charles Liback, employed in the colliery, has been arrested for maliciously setting fire to the mine. He was confronted by witnesses, who alleged that he told them he was in tlhe colliery shortly 'before the fire. Liback denied it, and said he was drunk and was in bed all night during the outbreak.
