HOME INDUSTRY AND PHOTOGRAPHS.
This is a most interesting departs ment, but it is not as well patronised as it ought to be. This, at any rate, is the dictum.of Mr. A. D. Biley, of WelJington, who judged the public school section. Mr. Riley expressed regret that tha entries from the Technical Schools showed a falling off, and in his opinion it will probably be necessary for the executive to take steps to encourago larger entries in. the future, cither by giving more information. iv the primary schools and the technical schools or in some other way. SometLrng, he hoped, would be done to ensure an increased number of entries. Possibly- the [Summer Show was affected by ;th^^Vjinter Show, but the fact remuinedr'ihat, whatever the cause, the number of exhibitors two years ago was:much, larger than it was to-day in po far as technical and primary work was concerned. There must be some reason for the, falling off, and he intended to embody in his report to the executive, his • ideas on the subject. With regard to the photographic section, ho had nothing but high praise for the quality of tne work shown. < He characterised it as the best exhibition of the kind yet made in Palmerston. Ho. regretted, however, that the local Camera Club had not seen its way to hold its annual exhibition in connection with the A. and P. Show.
