ORGAN RECITAL.
ST. PAUL'S HALL, TO-MORROW NIGHT.
It is scarcely necessary to remind our readers of the piano reci/tal to be given by Mr. Cyril Towsey, of Wellington, in St. Pain's Hall to-morrow evening. Mr. Towsey comes amongst us w.th a fine reputation as a soloist, and the papers in Wellington, after his last recital, spoke of some of his solos hi most flattering terms, and compared him very favourably with other pianists who have visited New Zealand. He opens his recital with the "Ballade" in A flat (Chopin), which is considered by all musical people as one of the great composer's most charming pieces. He then follows with an "Adagio" from Fantasia in C ("Wanderer") (Schubert), and the last items in the first part Avill be "Polonaise' 'in C sharp minor (Chopin). Tho second part of the programme comprises lyric pieces by Graig, very seldom heard in public, and "Marche ■Funebre" by Chopin. He will bo assisted by Mrs. Hughes Johnson (harpist), who unfortunately is only too seldom heard on the concert platform. Her playing alone is worth going a long way to hear. She will play a "Leg'ende" by Oberthur, and, with Mr. F. Hatherly (violin), "Aye Maria," by Gounod. The other artist is Miss Towsey, who sings "It. Came with the Merry May Love" (Tosti), and "For AH Eternity," with harp and violin obligate. The Steinway concert grand piano has been sent up expressly for this recital, and it is recognised by connoisseurs to be the finest piano in New Zealand at the present time. Wo hope to see a full house to-morrow night. .
