COMPANY'S REPORT
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows :—
There was a fair attendance of buyers, but speculation was not so keen as at last sales. Full-wcolled light conditioned skins sold well, but heavy skins were lower by per lb., as also were damaged pelted skins. We offered about 1600 skins, 23 packages wool, over 400 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow, and quote:— Sheepskins.—Merino halfbred and fine crossbred 3^d to 9d., coarse crossbred 8d to B£d, dead skins 4|d to 7£d, inferior pelted and short wools 5d to 7£d, green skins 5s 6d to 8s each.
Hides.—Heavy ox 4fd to sjd, light ox 4Jjd to sd, aqw hides from 4 3-8 dto 4yd, cut and slippy hides from 34d to 4d, calf skins 4d to 5 l-8d per lb. : Tallow.—ln tins from 15s to 18s 3d per cwt., casks 19s to 20s 6d per cwt.
