The Assembly passed the Local Option Bill. The chief provisions are that no drink elhall be sold on polling day; half the electors on the roll must record their votes; that a compensation fund 'be in force five years before the first poll is taken; tihe Basis of compensation to the owner to foe the difference between the assessed and capital value of a licensed house and one unlicensed; for tihe licensee the compensation to be the value of tihe goodwill.of the business during tihe previous year.
