WEDDING BELLS.

Says the " Hawera and Normanby Star" :—On Thurisaay, 'October 17th, ,11905, at St. Jos.ejjh'e, by Dean McKenna, of New Plymouth, a quiet but •pretty wedding was celebrated j the contracting parties (.being Miss Mary Johanna (May) Roche, eldest daughter of. Mr iM. Roche, of this town, to Mr P. Keegan of WestpoTt, third eon of Mr P. Keegan, senior, of East Town, Wanganui. The bride, whio was given away by her fe'tiher, was becomingly attired in white silk and pleated chiffon trimmed with orange blossom sprays; she ■ailso wore a wreath, and veil, which was 'beautifully hand-worked by Mrs W. A. Quin. Instead of the usual bouquet the 'bride canned <a 'book. Misses Nellie, Norah, and Kathleen Roche attended t(heir sister as bridesmaids, the two former were daintily dressed in white hailstone muslin relieved with 'blue sashes, tlhe head dresses being large white hats, while they also camried bouquets. The younger sislter wore a white silk dress, veil and wreath, and carried a basket of flowers. The best man was Mr P. Keegan, junior, brother of the bridegroom, while Mr M. MoCriossin attended as groomsman. The bridegroom's present to the ibride was a gold watch and ■chain and to the bridesmaids a gold bangle and gold brooches. After the ceremony a few friends and relations assembled at the residence of Mr M. Roche to breakfast, where a number of complimentary remarks were passed by Dean McKenna, the Very Rev. Father Power. Inspector Wilson, of Grey mouth, also Mr Wilson, junior. The bride was the recipient o f numerous and useful presents from her many friends throughout, the district. The 'bride's travelling dress was <i brown costume with a white chiffon hat. The happy couple left by tho north mail for their" future home in Westpart, via NeAV Plymouth and Napier, amidst the good wishes of their firU-nds for their future happiness and prosperity.
