DUNEDIN, October 26. At tiie Anglican Synod, after a debate, .the following motion was carried on the subject of religious instruction im schools: —" That this Synod is of opinion that t<he New South. Wales system of providing (religious instruction in State schools is equitable as between religious bodies, and is to be preferred for the reason that it permits definite teaching by ministers of religion or tiieir representatives, and that it is in actual operation in a. community closely resembling our own, and works satisfactorily.
