WELLINGTON, October 21. The weather was fine and the attendance good for tihe second day's races, but the course was still very heavy. The double event tote on the Peaixve Handicap and the Hutt Park Handicap r»aid the dividend of £50 10s. to 14 investors. The totalieatoa 1 returns for the day amounted to £8338, making £18,320 for the meeting, as against £18,395 at last year's spring meeting. Tararua Handicap.—Flotilla 1, Perdita 2, Matakokiri 3. Also started— Aberation and Grand Poplar. Won by a -head. Dividend, £4 9e. Pearce Handicap.—Veneer 1, Achilles 2, Mahutonga 3. Also started —Signalman, Shrapnel Shell, Flamen, and Blytihe Maid. Won by two lengths and a half length between the second and third. Time, 2 man 5 3-5 sec. Dividens, £13 4s and 13s. ■Hutt Park Handicap.—Ghoorka 1, Hinurewa 2, Starshoot 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 1 mm 37£ sec. Dividend, £2 4s. Sprinig Trial Stakes.—Pas Seul 1, Grand Poplar 2, Sir Percival 3. Also started—Armamento, Martello, and Grand -Circle. Won by four lengths.. Dividends, £1 19s a-nd £3. ..
