EGG-LAYING.

BLENHEIM, October 21. The total for the twenty-fifth week of the New Zealand egg-laying oomper tition is 2421, bringing the grand aggregate up to 43.550 eggs, for which the Association have been receiving one shilling per dozen. The weekly average now stands at 24.21. The highest laying for the. week is 39, returned by Ashworth's Silver Wyandottes, from Alexandra. The next highest, is the Marlborough A. and P. Association pen with 36. The order of merit in the aggregate results is as follows :— Legers White Leghorns, from Levin, 720; Brooks's Whrti» Leghorns, from South Australia, 668; A. and P. Association's Leghorns, 616; Hockey's Brown Leghorns, from Nelson, 603. There are 70 hens in a broody condition.
