MATAONGAONGA ROAD BOARD.
Tha usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Thursday night at the Board's office, Eastown. Present: Messrs. Neilson (in the chair), Jones, Mackey, and Rice. MINUTES.—The minutes of the last meeting ware read and confirmed. ACCOUNTS.—Accounts amounting to £203 13s. Id. were passed for payment.
PATAPU STREET.—Mr. Lambert waited on the Board and asked that tliis street should be formed. He was informed that nothing could be dona till the road was legally dedicated. SALISBURY AVENUE. — Messrs. McHarper arid Secord approached the Board with a view to improving the drainage of this road. The Board resolved to give £ for £ up to £7 towards the work.
LONG ACRE SUBDIVISION—This matter was referred to the Board's solicitor to report on. SHAKESPEARE'S CLIFF. — The Borough Council forwarded £300, their subsidy .towards, the Cliff, works. Tho Board 'ejcpJieisejd its appreciation of *h'3 pronvptneßsVwith.oyKich the Borough had "settled the matter.
GENERAL RATE.—A general rate of 3s. 4d. was struck.
ROADS.—It was resolved to have several holes on the Long Acre road filled, and some pipes put across it. ROAD FOREMAN.—Mr. Bolton was appointed to this position.
