SWIMMING.

At a meeting of the Wanganui Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association held last evening, it was decided to give twelve medals for life-saving competitions among school children, to be held at New Plymouth, Hawera, and Wanganui. ; A letter was also received from the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association stating that they are now granting certificates to school children who swim straight out 220 yards 01/ 440 yards. Masters' certificates of bona fidfs of perforamnee must accompany application. Members aro reminded that the annual meeting ol the Wanganui Swimming Club will be held in Dustui's rooms to-morrow evening at 8 o'clock.
