THE PROPOSED CONFERENCE.
DUNEDIN, October 18. At the annual meeting of the Employers' Association, Mr J. C. Thomson, who presided, and was re-elected President, in referring to tho Premier's proposed Labour Parliament, said as President of tho New Zealand Federation he could honestly say that the "employers of tfhe colony appear anxious to do all that is in their power to meet, and, if possible, solve, many and serious problems that lie ahead of us. If the Government decides on a commission or conference "with proper representation, and give ample time for delegates to discuss subjects with their association, employers will be pleased to meet the Government and do their utmost to help in a solution of the problems. My own opinion is that if a commission consisting of a limited number of disinterested persons was appointed with power to call evidence that good may come of it.
