Second Annual Meeting.
The second annual jnec-oing of members of the above Sockty was held at Willis's Hall on Thursday, night. Thfio wan a large attendance of {shareholders present.' Mr Wm. Hail, chairman ct directors, presided. The minutes of tihe last annual meeting having been read and confirmed, thy) chairman moved the adoption of the report and balar.ee sheet. In doing *o. Mr Hall congratulated members on lluposition ct the Society, and trusted that members would pay heir subscriptions promptly. Had they done so in the past, they might have'had. another appropriation. As it was, they have hn«l fiftaen appropriations of £150 during the year, which is very satisfactory. Mr Hall also mentioned. that; the .Society had lost the services of Messrs Mathison and McFarlane as directors, both gentlemen finding thati owing-to'press of business they could not spare the time. Messrs W. R. Borlase and R. G. McNiven being elected in their stead. Mr G. Butler, being the only nomination for the position of auditor, was declared duly elected. After the annual meeting the ballotfor £900 was drawn. Miss M. Jensen drew the marbles, the lucky numbers being, respectively, 62, 46, and 630, the holders in each case, having more than one share, being entitled to £300. A vote of thanks to the chairman and directors; terminated tho .meeting.
