ACCIDENTS AND FATALATIES.

WELLINGTON, November 27. A man about 40 yriars of age stepped off a train in the city late last evening and fell to the ground. He was picked up dead. There was no outward sign or serious injury but death is believed to have been due to internal rupture. Deceased's name is not known, but a letter addressed "Thomas McNab" was found on him. . , .„ , The body of Thomas McNab, killed by a fall after alighting from a tramcar last night, has been identified as a resident of Hall Street, Newtown. He was 27 years of age. AUCKLAND, November 27. A fireman named Connors was lost in the English Channel from the steamer Maori, which arrival her© yesterday. DUNEDIN, November 27. Muriel Taylor, a young woman, while,, crossing the Kaikorai tram line, was knocked over by a tram. She was picked up insensible and taken to the hospital, but died soon after. At tha inquest touching the death ot Charles Uxe Warren, the evidence showed that deceased was working on the Koonya, which was being shifted by means of a hawser attached to a winch, the latter being at a- standstill. The hawser caught in "one of the plates, when it suddenly got clear and struck, the deceased across the body, and he was knocked down. He was assisted up, and worked for some time afterwards. The jury returned a verdict that deceased died from shock, caused by a blow on the abdomen, no blame being attachablb to anyone.
