Appropriation of i native lands rates was made as follows : ; £22 14s od; half each to tho Waipipil j Road lending to the beach and the road to | the Otoia Pah, subject to the approval of I the Surveyor-General. The letter of the I Waverley Town Board, relative to I metalling tho main street, was held over ; till next mooting. Mr G. W. Dickson ; wrote, explaining an appavout disore? j panoy in his reports relative to tho state ' of tho Patoa Bridge, as discussed at tho ', meeting of the two Councils on September 5; letter received. Council adjourned till tlw loth inst., when a. special meeting is to be held to consider | tho bye-laws. The Patea Hospital Board met on Thursday, October 3, Mr W. Symes in the chair. Tho chairman was requested to' inquire, into E. Evans' case, and to grant relief if absolutely necessary. A cheque for J230 was handed in by Mr Thos. Clark, of Waitotara, towards the l'eliof of two Waitotara patients — Mr W. Hurley and Mrs Relling, both of whom ai'O suffering front severe attacks of rheumatism. A statement of accounts. , was presented, and accounts to the amount of £35 2s 7d passed for payment. The Borough Council applied for £1, rent due by P. Grace. Resolved that the Board d? not consider itself liable for this amount. '
