— v [Per United Press Association.] Napier, October 4. There was magnificent weather for the Agricultural Show to-day, and the attendance was much larger than at any previous show. The show of thoroughbred stock was miserable both in number and quality. The draught stock' werenot very numerous, but some grand yoirag'eters'paraded, Mr Douglas McLean sccur- ! ing tho cream of the honours. Cattle wore almost entirely confined to shorthorns. The Eev. S. Williams was less successful than formerly. The Hon. H. I B. Russell. T. H. Lowry, and •W. Eath- ! bone were tho chief prize-takors. The j prize for tho best young bulls went to Mr J. Reid, of Elderslie, and the champion was also bred by the same gentlemen, though exhibited by Mr Rathbone. Mr H. Russell exhibitod the champion cow of his own brooding- The judges specially commented on the exeejHUonal excollence of the cattle shown. Ihere irere a large show of carriages and implements, but no prizes were given this year.
