PSE UNITED PRKSS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND. November 4 At a meeting of the chairmen of the various road boards in the connty of Eden held to-day, it was resolved, That ii is inadvisable to bring the Counties Act into operation in .Eden. The recent decision of the Charitable Aid Board in resolving to invest the principal of the costly beqeafch to the refuges instead of building a new refuge was approved. The question of the Onehunga Oe"metery Beßerves Bill, introduced into the House by SirG. M. O'Sorke, was discussed, and an opinion was expressed that the provision of the bill is an injustioe to Eden. The chairman of the meeting; Mr. JR. Ady, was requested to commune oate with the Hon Mr Mitohelson and other Auckland members asking them to oppose the bill. A unique proposition came before the Waitemata County Counoil at its ordinary meeting to-day. The Whan* garei Oounty Council telegraphed asking them to 00-operate in endeavouring to secure from the Governmaat the sum of £50,000 per annum for five years, the money to be distributed pro rata amongst the rune counties north of Auckland, The proposal created much amusement, and "it waa decidad to send a copy of the telegram to Mr Monk, WELLINGTON. m , , , . .
