Melißoubne, November 1 The second day's races of the Victoria Racing Club's Spring Meeting were run 'at Flemington to-day. Tho following are thereßalta:— MELBOURNE OCT. Mr Donovan's Dunlop l Mr Cooper's Silvflrmine Y<'2 Mr Gannon's Australian Peer .. .> : 3 A splendid start was effected, Algerian, Silver Prince, Thunderbolt, Tranter, O»k« leigh, Beeall, and Charmer getting first away, Meteor being the last So move off. Kaeiag down the ?t?aight, Charmer was leading Silver Prinoe by half a length ; then followed Traafar, Algerian, Thunderbolt, Bemup, and Beoali, the others in a bunoh, Meteor baing seoond from loßt. Passing the stand, the positions wore the same, but on mounting the turn Silver Prince took oommand ; then came Charmer, Algerian, Tranter, Aberoorn, Bemus, Granbrook, Australian Peer, and Reoall, with Sardiaa bringing up the rear, Banning along the river side, Silver Prinoe maintained the laad, and the order remained unchanged until the abbatoira were reaohed, where Dunlop and Silrermine assumed a bold front. 'JPranter and Thunderbolt here fell away, and we»-e done with. Approaching the scraping sheds Silver Prince was still leading the field ; Algerian, OaTdeigb, Remus, Dunlop, Silvarmine, Australian Peer, Eecall, and Oranbrook following in the older namad, while the others filed past straggling. Coming abreast th» sheds, Silver Prince shot his bolt ; Algerian alio was done with. Dunlop bhen asaumel com* mand, with Silvermine and Australian. Peer closely following. A magnifiosnt struggle between Eunlop and Silvermine took place all the way up tha straight, ending in favour of the former by a length and a half, Australian Peer a length and a half further off, being third. Then came Niagra, OranbrooV, Algerian, Silver Prince, Abercorn, and Thunderbolt in the ordee named. Time, 3min 28}aecf ., the fattest on record. Pakeha and Jebusite also started.
