Mr McDonald, the Harbour Board Engineer, was a passenger by the mail steamer for Sydney, with the plans for the dock, to consult Mr Wardell, 0.E., of Sydney. . He goes to Melbourne to inspect theWilliamstown dock. Faughly and Welsh, gumdiggers, are supposed to have been drowned while bathing at Kaipara. The former is a relation of a contractor at Auckland. The latter is not known to havß any relatives in tho colony, Mr J. Weaver, passenger by the Oity of New York, comes to New Zealand in the interest of- the Standard Oil Company, of Cleveland, Ohio, to bore oil wells here. Koss, late of Woodyear and Eoss, circus proprietors, died of consumption on board the City of New Yoik during her last trip from Auckland to San Francisco. CHRISTCHURCH. July 2. That the forgoing resolutions be communicated to the" various Canterbury representatives.
