In consequence of the large number of penniless immigrants who are now arriving from Ireland, and who_ require pecuniary assistance on landing, the Emigration Board of this city" have, decided to- send "all paupers back to Ireland. " ROME; ■ •■• . ■ June 25;;. A serious catastrophe, resulting in the deaths of 37 persons, occurred at Dirvio (eio). A fire broke oiit at a puppet show whicb was being held in that town, and in the rush which was made to escape from the building, the door became blocked. Besides those who lost their lives by the fire, many suffered severe injuries.
