THE DUNEDIN GAOL, INQUIRY.
(pes UNITED press association.) Dunbdin, June 26. The Dnnedin gaol inquiry was continued to-day. Evidence was given by several prisoners. The complaints were principally of a general kind, and Mr Stout deolined to cross-examine more than one witness, stating in one ease that it would be an insult to the intelligence of the Commissioners to do so. Mr J. N. Watt, R. M. was also examined, but his evidence was confined to the time when the Maori prisoners were in gaol, audit was only with them he had anything to do. The inquiry resumes on Thursday.
