♦ FIFTH PRIZE MEETING. ; a (PEK" UNITED PBE3S ASSOCIATION.) : 1 „',■' DuNEDIN, Nov. 3. : The fifth meeting of the New Zealand i Rifle Association opened at nine o'clock s this morning, at Musselburgh. The ; weather .at the start .was everything , that could be desired, ■ there being a ! slight southerly wind blowing, . but „ during the second; matoh in ' the af ter-j noon light showers' fell, and- at 6 o'clock' 1 a heavy rain set in which has' every ap-i a ' pearance of continuing over to-morrow. £ Should this be the case,'it will be most „ inconvenient for the Competitors, as the various mounds will 'become .something like a.inudpop'l. ' The shooting, to-day c was nothing extraordinary, and does not j compare favourably with the previous y meetings oi> the association; This, howe ever, was t expected, owing to .the range, which is not one of the best; All the ,j. arrangements are complete, and only one hitch occurred during the day.
