Among the many rumours prevnlen in town with regard to the doings o the absconder Hempton, is one that hi was seen at Ambcrley a few days ago It is also stated, ou gosd authority that a person called at Leach auc Lewis's stubles on Sunday evening anc took out a buggy, saying Mr Hemptoi would pay for it, an r l was going for e a short drive. The buggy was no I brought back till Monday morning Another report, o£ a more sensationa! nature is that Hempton was known tc have a pocket of prussic acid with him on his flight.
