FATAL ACCIDENT AT MILTON.
(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) . Dunedin, Oct 20. A fatal accident happened on Tues day at Adams's Mat, near Milton. Abou eight o'clock in the morning Johi Paßkell, a settler of that place, was a workstripping aseam of coal. Hehadre moved a large quantity o£ earth, leaving an embankment ten feet in hieght, whei his son, who was working a little dis tance off observed the earth suddenl fall upon his father. He immediate! rushed to his aid, and after doing wha he could sent for further assistance. Di Keid was on the spot as soon as possi ble, but on examination found that lit was extinct. Death must have bee instantaneous ns the skull was literall shattered to fragments.
