I October 19. t The dispute between the Coal Pit * Heath Company and the coal hewers ' employed in the mine has been settled t by a compromise. The men proposed r that an interval of only half-an-hoiir D instead of a full hour should be taken 1 during the eight hour 3 shift, thus making it eight and a-half, and the company 3 have accepted the compromise.
