May 20. At a meeting of tho Waste Lands Board to-day, it was resolved that the land between the Hutt and the Pahautanui be not offered for sale until tho road is completed. Forty summonses havo been issued againatLaudTax defaulters, and another batch is now being taken out. Mr Miller, a farmer at Masterton, had his thumb completely smashed and nearly torn tiff at the wrist while working at a threshing machine. It 13 stated that trout are now numerous in the Wainuiomata stream, and that fish Clbs weight are frequently caught.
