WAVERLEY.

We are happy to be able to state that the new flour mill belonging to an enterprising settler, Mr William Hone, built on. the Mangatacgi Creek, close to Waverley, is so near completion as to have hud a trial working on Thursday. The flour turned out was a splendid sample, all who tried it being thoroughly satisfied with the article produced. A correspondent referring to the mutter writes thus : - Considering that for some months back we have had to put up "with flour of a very indifferent quality, the completion of the new mill has been eagerly looked for by numbers of the settlers who' had grown wheat in anticipation of having ib manufactured for their own use. The requisite niachiuery has been supplied and fitted up by Mr D. Murray, of the Wangauui Foundry. The Waverley people are naturally proud of the new industry in their district, which cannot fail to be found very serviceable to many. It is hoped that the mill will gives abundant satisfaction to the enterprising owner, as also to those whose laborious and anxious duty it was to arrange the machinery. There are many settlers talking of putting in a patch of wheat this season for their uwii use, who otherwise would not havedone so had it not been for the facilities for its conversion into the staff of life i.o w afforded them.
