WELLINGTON.
June 15. Thomas Daly, a fireman on board the Hinemoa, was found drowned on Te Aro beach this morning. He was last seen alive at ten o'clock somewhat under the influence of liquor. June 16. Captain Bonnor, of the steamer Ttii, had his certificate suspended for six months and was ordered to pay costs. The charge of drunkenness was not proved, but gross misconduct in taking the Mauawatu bar when signalled not to do so, and for steaming round the Napier and thus causing the collision. Charles Grey, confectioner, who was arrested last night under the Fraudulent Debtors Act, was brought up this morning and remanded till Monday. It is said a strong case will be made out for having removed a quantity of goods not discovered to the trustee of the estate, and that the creditors are determined to carry on the prosecution.
