Oct. 26. The Acclimatization Society this afternoon decided to send a curator to Auckland to take charge of the salmon ova'to j arrive by the next in.-iii steamer. 25 trout ova will be sent as a gift to Taranaki, in place of the lot which died on their way there. The clip this season promises to be above the average. The price per hundred for shearing is lower thau usual, owing to influx of Victorian shearers. _ Private letters from the Kumara gold fields are discouraging.
