Cora, from Dunedin, . early The schooner Colleen Bawn left Peloru Sound on Friday, morning, and arrived off the bar at 10 p.m. the same day, but was unable to get into the river until next day at noon. The engines, boiler, masts, spars, and a quantity of other gear saved from the wreck o^the Egmont were forwarded to Wellington by Mr Duthie, through the Stormbird, on Saturday night. The Waihopai and Awaroa beat out over the bar yesterday, both bound to Nelson. " The Reward, in coming up the river yestergot out of the channel and stuck on Imlay's flat. It will be remembered, says a Wellington exchange, that seven ships sailed for London last May, produce laden, from New Zealand ports. These vessels made the passage as follows :— Pleiades, and Hurunui, from Wellington, 83 and 96 days respectively; from Dunedin, the Oamaruß3 days and May Queen 93 days ; from Lytteltoh, Crusader 97 days, and Soukar 107 days ; from the Bluff, Otaki 96 days. The race, was, therefore, won by the ships Pleiades and Oamaru. The • Post ' of the 19th says :— The threomasted'schooner May, from Foo Chow, was signalled early this morning, and at 10.45 the s.s. Stormbird proceeded to tow her in, and succeeded in bringing her into port at 2 o'clock this afternoon. We are indebted to Captain Plumley for the following report : — Left Foo Chow on the 14th of last July, had fine, calm weather, with the wind principally from the N.E., until reaching the westward of New Caledonia, where she encountered a fierce gale, which tore to shreds all her canvas. The rest of her passage was uneventful until rounding Terawiti, at 12 o'clock last night, ■when another stiff breeze was encountered.
