The Stormbird also sailed for Wanganui, at 6 p.m. Arrived— Barquentine May. 95 days from Foochow, with 320 tons of new season tea, besides matting, rice, and other Chinese goods. The ship and cargo are cousigued to Turubull & Co. DUNEDIN. Oct. 19. An extraordinary action has been commenced in the R.M. Court, against the superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum, by a recent inmate, damages being laid at £100, for alleged .assaults commstted in the Asylum. A temperance paper, to be called the 'New Zealand Temperance Times/ incorporating the ' Liberator and Temperance Advocate,' is being started by a contemporary. The City Council have declined to purchase the University building for £30,000.
