JOHN SHEILD, Woodstock' sept 23 THE PURE CLYDESDALE HORSE "PREBIDEN T," WILL travel the Palmersfcon, Ball Town, Marton, Turakina, and Lower Rangitikei districts this season, going his round every nine days. Mares will also be taken in and paddocked on the Oroua Downs Station free of expense, for one month, after that two shillings a week will be charged for each mare. TERMS: Single Blare, £5 5s ; Groom's Fee, ss; paddocking (per week), 2s, after the first month. President is a dark bav horse rising five years old, and seventeen hands one inch high, a tremendous powerful, heavy boned horse, very propoi'tionately made, and is one of the best heavy-actioued horses in the colony. He is naturally sound and possesses feet and legs of the most durable kind. He is by the prize horse, Old President, which was bred by the late Mr J. Nuno--, '.Taeiri, Otago; by Marquis, imported from Victoria, bred by J. Brown, Esq, Preston Hall, Lower Plenty, by Prince Charlie, imported, and out of Mr Brown's celebrated mare Old Jean, the winner of eleven first prizes and was never beaten. Marquis has gained 14 first prize? and 4> second prizes in Victoria, and since he was imported toOrago he has gained 3 first and 5 second prizes. Old President is out of Nancy, imported from Scotlaud, bred by A. Finlay, Esq, Sandy Hills, near Glasgow, by the celebrated Cavalry horse, Herdmau, by Scotchman, the property of Mr Kirkwood, Kilmars. President is out of Kate, which is admitted to be the best mare in New Zealand. Kate is by Napoleon, imported from Scotlaud. Napoleon was bred by Macadam Kepcullock; his sire George Buchanan, wan bred by Mr Buchanan of Coldrach. Napoleon is out of a celebrated mare, the property of Lord Campbell, Esq, of Roseneath. Kate is out of j th' HteMr J Nimmo's old black mare C T j, imported from Scotland, bred b\ Av A. Galbraith, Cray Cunningham, Kilearn. Jean is by Justice, grandsire Prince Albert, and out; of the famous Jess, who gained six prizes out of seven competitions. President took first prize against 11 comers at the "Wanganui Show in 1875.
