Water turned on in the mains yesterday, with a pressure of 132 pouuds to the square inch. Several pipes burst, but the result is generally considered satisfactory. The pressure threw a column of water nearly a hundred feet high. Tenders are called for the construction of thirty trucks for reclamation contract. The Chairman of the Licensing Court warned any publican selling adulterated liquor that his license would be cancelled. ' Glenlora ' sails with 3230 packages of wool, besides other cargo, representing altogether £76,623.
Mr Travers did not move yesterday in banco for a dissolution of the injunction against the Provincial Government. He has demurred to the information on which the injuction was founded on several grounds, one being the locus standi of the Attorney General, whose action in the matter is contended to have been ultra vires. The demurrer will be argued before the Court of Appeal id May.
