ORIGINAL POETRY.
EOR ST. VALENTINE’S, 1863. Deem ye those blest, Whose adamantine breast Ne’er felt the burden of a heaving sigh ? Or those undone Whose tender hearts are won By the quick glances of a sparkling eye ? Or happier they, Whose sympathies display The warm and glowin g currents of the heart, Whose beings blend In one—the lasting friend— Whose love so binds, it will not let them part ? Be ours the joy, To taste without alloy The ecstacies of ardent holy love : Sweet antepast Of bliss decreed to last Long as the angels shall have bliss above. J. F. Turakina, Feb. 14.
