The Airedale steamer arrived from Otago* at Wellington on Monday. She left on Friday. Bad weather had lessened the ■receipt of gold by the last escort’by 3,000 ounces. A ' number of the Dunedin folks are going home, having made their fortunes. The'steamer * Corlo’ left Mel- ; bourne bn ; the l'oth instant. The English mail liad not then been telegraphed. Mr. Ward has arranged with the Otago Provincial Government for the mails from Melbourne, and was to' proceed by first opportunity to Melbourne and Sydney to complete the arrangement.. This again is like business. The vigour is seen in all the departments.
