EKETAHUNA
IDEAL SPOT FOR HOLIDAY HEALTHY, VIGOROUS COMMUNITY ("Times-Age” Special.) Another year is drawing to a close and it can be claimed that, despite the war, it has been a period of progress. The modern appearance of the town, its excellent trading concerns, the beautiful gardens in and surrounding Eketahuna and the bathing facilities and the sports grounds make it an ideal spot for a holiday. Though handicapped in many respects Eketahuna has always overcome its difficulties and takes its place with the larger towns in the province. The hospitable nature of the residents is well known, and social gatherings are conducted on lines which quickly make strangers feel at home. The war, of course, has dealt a severe blow to most sports but bowling still flourishes and produces keen contests among members, while tennis is played to a lesser degree. Eketahuna may be considered by some to be off the beaten track, but be that as it may, the residents get full enjoyment out of life and are a healthy, vigorous community, with their domestic requirements well provided for by well managed business concerns.
