Business Conditions. Eketahuna shopkeepers report good business during the Christmas period and the old year will close with conditions better in trade than was gonerally anticipated. Despite such difficult ties as short supplies and’ lack of variety local businessmen have been able to keep faith with the public and provide a supply of goods, which, though perhaps not meeting all the desires ot customers, has provided a better service than has obtained in many othei centres. Eketahuna can provide goods of the best quality obtainable and at rates which compare more than favourably with many other bigger centres. It is only through lack of publicity that business goes to larger places such as Masterton, as many people are unaware that Eketahuna can compete with any town in the Wairarapa in the matter of quality of goods and price.
