SOUTH FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY & DANCE WAR SERVICE COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee. The music was provided by Mr T. Udy’s Orchestra and extras were played by Pte. Drysdale. Mr H. Graham was M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss Greta Willis and partner and Miss Phyllis Snell and partner. The card winners were: —Ladies: Mrs R. Williams and Mrs W’ilson, equal, 1. Men: F. Benton, 1; G. Cuff, 2. Lucky numbers: Mrs Fairbrother and Mrs L. Boyd. A ham was won by Mr Joe Saba. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. A successful bring and buy stall was held in the South Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee recently. The stall-holders were: Produce, Mr Stan Benton, Mesdames Benton, Graham and A. Gain; cakes, Mesdames Bladen, F. R. Burt, and P. Wilton. A cake donated by Mrs Wakely was won by Mrs Shepperd, a bag by Mrs Smith, handkerchiefs by Mrs Smith, and sweets by Murray Lumsden. The War Service Committee met ift the South Featherston Hall recently to pack parcels to be forwarded to local soldiers who are serving overseas. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs G. W. Holmes, of Lower Hutfi are visitors to South Featherston. Mr G. Gain Senr., who has beep visiting Te Puke and Hastwells, is staying with Mrs D. Robertson, South Faetherston. Mrs Allen Wellington has returned to Wellington after spending Christmas with her mother, Mr F. R. Burt. Miss Hazel Lumsden, Wellington, has returned after spending the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs Lumsden. South Featherston.
