FOOTBALLER’S DEATH

REPATRIATED PRISONER FROM ITALY. PROMINENT AUSTRALIAN RUGBY PLAYER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—copyright) SYDNEY, December 27. The death has occurred of Mi’ Russ Kelly, a repatriated prisoner-of-war and Australian Rugby Union international. He played for Australia against the Springboks in 1936 and against the All Blacks in 1938 and *1939. He was a brilliant forward. Kelly returned to Australia in September, 1939, and he was seriously wounded at Benghazi, and was in Italian hospitals and prisoner of war camps for two years.
