STATE THEATRE
DOUBLE PROGRAMME. There will be an excellent mid-week programme shown at the State Theatre tonight. The theatre is noted for the high standard of its mid-week programmes, and the bill-of-fare tomorrow will be of exceptional merit. It covers a variety of general subjects, in addition to two brilliant features— “Journey Into Fear” and “The Great Gildersleeve”— each of which in its own particular line provides high grade entertainment for patrons. It is certainly a programme which should not be missed. “The Great Gildersleeve” is one of the best comedy-dramas ever brought to the screen. It is the biggest laughter show seen for some time. The chief roles are taken by Harold Peary and Jane Donwell. Jn “Journey Into Fear,” a thrilling drama, Joseph Cotten, Dolores del Rio and Orson Welles take the principal parts. __
