An announcement from>3fk 10 Downing Street, states: “Mr Churchill has been informed of Christmas greetings sent him by many friends, known and unknown, both at home and abroad. He has also been cheered by a large number of kind messages received during his illness from all parts of the world. Mr Churchill looks forward to reading these messages on his return. Meantime he reports that he cannot reply personally, but sends warm thanks to all and hopes this message will be accepted as an acknowledgment.”
