ATTACK BV JAPANESE ON AMERICAN AIR BASE IN CHINA 13 ENEMY PLANES UNDAMAGED OUT OF 58 LONDON. December 23. Yesterday 58 Japanese aircraft tried to wreck an American air base in China. Only 13 got. away undamaged. American fighters destroyed for certain 11 Zeros and four bombers. Thirteen Zeros and three bombers were probably destroyed and 14 more Japanese planes were damaged. The American losses were one fighter in the air and another on the ground. Five were damaged. Liberators from China attacked railway yards in Siam. All got back safely.
