HOSPITAL CHEER

PATIENTS ENTERTAINED. The wards at the Masterton Hospital have been most effectively decorated for Christmas. On Wednesday evening, in the children’s ward, a Christmas party was held. A large Christmas tree, covered with tiny lights and laden with gifts, was the centrepiece, and around the walls there were gay decorations. Father Christmas distributed gifts to the children. Last night the nurses’ choir visited all the wards and sang to the patients. Tonight the whole stall will sing carols at 9 o’clock. Father Christmas will visit the tuberculosis ward tomorrow morning, when a Christmas tree, gathering will take place and presents will be distributed to the patients.
