OP ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN BRITAIN BISHOP B. W. GRIFFIN. APPOINTED ARCHBISHOP OF WESTMINSTER. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.0 a.m.) RUGBY, December 22. The Right Rev. Barnard W. Griffin, titular Bishop of Abya, has been appointed Archbishop of Westminster, in succession to Cardinal Hinslcy, who died on March 13 last. Archbishop Griffin, who is 44 years of age, was born in Birmingham, and in 1938 was consecrated as Bishop Auxiliary of Birmingham.
