SURPLUS RICE
PURCHASES FROM BRAZIL BY-BRITAIN & UNITED STATES (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, December 21. The British and United States Governments have reached an agreement with the Brazilian Government for the purchase of various surpluses of Brazilian rice crops of the 1943 harvesting allocation. These surpluses, which may exceed 200,000 tons, will be under the direction of the combined food board.
