An announcement that Mr Nash had. left New Zealand by air for Australia on his return journey to Washingotn, where he will resume his post of New Zealand Minister to the United States, was made yesterday by the. Piime Minister, Mr Fraser. While in Australia Mr Nash will have discussions with Mr Curtin, Dr. Evatt, and other Commonwealth Ministers. It was anticipated that Mr Nash would be away from New Zealand for several months, said Mr Fraser. During his absence his portfolios would be handled by other Ministers. Mr Sullivan would be Acting Minister of Finance. Mr Nordmeyer, Acting Minister of Customs, and Acting Minister in Charge of Land and Income Tax, and Mr Mason Acting Minister of Stamp Duties. * Mr Nash, who left Wellington for Auckland on Sunday afternoon, was farewelled by his Ministerial colleagues at an afternoon tea gathering in the Cabinet room on Friday afternoon.
