FATHER CHRISTMAS

VISIT TO FORESTERS’ LODGE. GATHERING IN MASTERTON. A very enjoyable gathering took place in the Masonic Hall on Saturday afternoon when a large number of children and their parents assembled, the occasion being the annual Christmas - tree party of the Masterton Foresters’ Lodge. The tree was beautifully decorated with high quality presents for the children, and. gay streamers. Father Christmas arrived at 2.30 o’clock, being greeted by loud applause. Each child received a present, paper hat and a bag of lollies. Afternoon tea was then served. The splendid quality of the presents was the subject of much favourable comment. The success of the party was due to the card committee who provided the money for the purchase of the presents from card tournaments held throughout the year for this special purpose. The lod£e expresses its gratitude to Bros. C. A. Leigh, R'. Walker, J. McDewar and W. H. Edwards, for their splendid effort. Special thanks are also due to Mesdames Perfect, Walker and Scriviner tor the able manner in which they carried out the afternoon Ilea arrangements and to the officers and members who conducted the gathering, which will be long remembered both by children and parents as an outstanding success.
