ON MANY PARTS OF. RUSSIAN FRONT Germans Report Strong Soviet Attacks IN LENINGRAD AREA AND FURTHER SOUTH ENEMY STILL HELD UP IN KIEV BULGE LONDON, December 17. Reports from Berlin and Moscow speak of hard fighting all along the Russian front from Leningrad to the mouth of the Dnieper. Berlin says the Russians are attacking the German salient near Leningrad and speaks also of heavy defensive fighting north-west and south-west of Nevel, at the northern end of the White Russian front. The Germans in addition report frequent Soviet attacks against the centre and south of the White Russian front For'the second day, the Germans ignore the fighting on the Kiev bulge. The Russians say they have wiped out enemy units and that the enemy is licking his wounds and regrouping his forces.
